I think this quote means that loyalty is the root of all good qualities you have in any relationship with anyone. No matter who they are, how you met them, or what your differences and similarities are. Loyalty leads to trust, and trust improves any relationship. If you are loyal to someone, you should get loyalty back. If you notice that they aren’t matching your loyalty, maybe they are not the right person to be loyal to. People who are worth knowing will be loyal to you as you are to them. Being loyal will lead to people trusting you, and with loyalty and trust come many other great qualities for a human being.

I think this quote means that if we take time to get to know each other, humans would not be so divided. We can’t see the value in becoming allies with someone if we don’t know their strengths and weaknesses, their emotions and opinions, or their loyalty and generosity. If all humans got to know each other and learn to trust each other, we would be united. We fear the unknown, but if we got to know it, we would not be afraid of it. That is what I think MLKJ was trying to say.

I think this quote means that without a purpose, life would mean nothing. We would not find value in life without something that we would give it up for. Whether it is for someone you love, something you love doing, or a cause important to you, life without something to die for is worthless. If we did not have something that we would die for, we would not do anything to continue our life. That is what I think MLKJ was saying.

I think this quote means that with teamwork you can achieve anything. True teamwork is when everyone is making a commitment and helping with what they have. With individual work, the person doing the work tires after giving all they have with no one to support them. With teamwork, everyone contributes a piece and can keep going. If humans work together, they can persist without tiring. With individual work, you can get far. With teamwork, you can pass the boundary of possible and impossible and nothing can stop you.

I think this quote means that if we took the time and had the courage to sit down and understand something, we wouldn’t be afraid of it. The only time we fear something is when we don’t understand it and don’t take the time to understand it. We are only afraid of the things we don’t understand. Take the time to understand something, and that is one less thing you have to fear. Nothing was ever meant to be feared, only to be understood.

I think this quote means that loyalty is something you have to commit to before getting it as a reward. If you want someone to be loyal, you have to take the first step. When you commit to being loyal, you will make friends and people will show their true character to you. Others will trust you, confide in you, and consider you a friend. Loyalty, however, is hard earned and takes time. Still, what you get out of it is worth it.

I think this quote means that even if something doesn’t go your way, don’t give up. Keep going and don’t let anything stop you, because if you do it will always end up working out. For example, I got cut from a bunch of hockey teams that I tried out for at the beginning of the season and got put on a low-level team that I didn’t like. Instead of giving up, I made sure that I got as much ice time as possible and practiced in my garage every chance I got. When the team I didn’t like and I played in a tournament, I played as hard as I could and made sure the coaches on the other teams noticed me. Soon, I got on a team I liked with good coaching, nice kids, and played hard. I became one of the better players on that team and it all worked out. When something doesn’t go your way, don’t roll over and surrender. Keep going and be persistent, because if you do, it will all end up working out.

I think this quote means that a true friends are always there for each other. A true friend is there to make your day better and lift you up when you feel down. Kindness is friendship. Friendship is being the water in someone’s pool. Friendship is being the positive part of someone’s day. If you are kind, people will consider you a friend. That is the importance of friendship, and that is what I think this quote is meant to mean.

I think this quote means that the greatest rewards for hard work come from hard work done with a team. Last year in hockey, my team and I almost won the state tournament, and we played surprisingly well against the toughest team in the state at our level. One of us alone could not have done that. If you work with a team, you can achieve your goals and enjoy the rewards. Once Aesop said “United we stand, divided we fall.” He said that because unity is strength and if we work together, we can achieve anything.

I think this quote means that when life offers you a chance to achieve a goal, you have to believe in yourself and go for it. If you really want something, you should work hard to achieve it because it is worth working hard for. When I got cut from the hockey teams I wanted to play for and got put on a B team, I kept working hard and life gave me a chance to make a better team. I worked hard and believed in myself and eventually got put on that team. Now I play for a good team that I am happy to be on and can improve my skills on. When life offers you the chance to go for it, take that chance and use it. That is what I think this quote means.
